Job Overview
The Omnia Fertilizer Division is recruiting qualified Artisan Fitters to join its manufacturing plant in Sasolburg. The successful candidates will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment, as well as performing shutdown maintenance work in line with world-class manufacturing standards.
This role is ideal for experienced artisans with strong mechanical skills, particularly in motors, pumps, and plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Compliance
• Ensure full compliance with the OHS Act and statutory safety requirements
• Apply safety regulations related to machinery and mechanical equipment
Maintenance & Reliability (MTBF)
• Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and strategic maintenance tasks
• Conduct maintenance inspections and advanced fault finding
• Manage and utilise spares and tools effectively
• Record and report downtime, incidents, and equipment performance
5S & Continuous Improvement
• Drive and maintain 5S principles within the plant
• Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
• Matric with Mathematics and Science
• N2 or N3 Engineering qualification
• Trade Test (Red Seal) – Fitter / Fitter and Turner
Experience Required
• 2–5 years’ experience as an Artisan in a maintenance or manufacturing environment
• Proven experience working with motors and pumps
