Job Overview
VKB Retail in Reitz is seeking a Floor Assistant to support daily retail and stock operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for moving stock from the stockroom to the sales floor, ensuring merchandise is correctly marked, packed, and displayed, while also assisting with loading, unloading, and general warehouse activities.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in retail, warehousing, logistics, or agricultural stores who are physically fit and safety-conscious.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Draw and move merchandise from the stockroom to the retail floor
• Mark, pack, and shelve stock according to store standards
• Plan and oversee the loading and unloading of goods
• Ensure correct weight distribution and load securing in line with safety regulations
• Inspect cargo, stock, and documentation for accuracy
• Coordinate with drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse staff
• Maintain accurate records of stock movements and reconciliations
• Report damages, incidents, or deviations promptly
• Uphold VKB values and maintain a safe working environment
Minimum Requirements
• Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 qualification
• Experience in agricultural retail will be an advantage
• 1–3 years’ experience in transport, warehousing, or logistics operations
• Willingness to work weekends and public holidays as per roster
• Knowledge of load planning, weight distribution, and safety regulations
• Physically fit and capable of performing heavy-duty tasks
• Clear criminal record
