Overview
Gold One Group Limited is seeking a highly skilled TMM Fitter to join the Project Gedex operation in Brakpan. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical, hydraulic, and diagnostic expertise with extensive experience working on Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM). This role requires precision, technical confidence, and the ability to maintain high productivity in a demanding mining environment.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
• Grade 10, 11, or Matric with N2 or equivalent qualification
• Trade Test in one of the following (preferably Section 13):
• Diesel Mechanic
• Earthmoving Mechanic
• Diesel Fitter
• Hydraulic Fitter
• Millwright
• Fitter
Experience
• Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience working with Trackless Mobile Machinery
• Proven practical experience with the following OEM machines (non-negotiable):
• Sandvik
• Caterpillar
• Fermel
• Manitou
• Back/Front Loaders
• Dozers
• Atlas Copco mobile machinery
Technical Knowledge
• Strong understanding of:
• Hydraulic systems & cylinders
• Drifters, bolters, torque converters, transmissions, final drives
• Extensive knowledge of engines:
• Caterpillar, Mercedes-Benz, Deutz, Cummins, Detroit, Perkins, Toyota
• Including engine protection systems
• Good understanding of electro-hydraulic components and diagnostic systems
• Experience using CMMS systems such as Afrigle, SAPS or JD Edwards
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and technical problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work flexible hours and perform standby duties
• Proficient in English (additional languages beneficial)
• Valid South African Driver’s Licence (Code 8–10)
• South African citizenship
• Clear criminal record
Key Responsibilities
• Work according to a rotational shift schedule
• Perform effective and timeous maintenance and repairs on all TMM equipment
• Conduct rough sketches, pre-planning, and cost estimation for work tasks
• Troubleshoot and perform detailed mechanical and hydraulic fault analysis
• Ensure spare parts availability to reduce downtime and maximise equipment productivity
• Execute preventive maintenance and ensure fire suppression, alarms, and emergency systems are always functional
• Maintain all equipment and work areas according to required safety and operational standards
