Purpose of the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Artisan Assistant to support our Tractor Technician in servicing, repairing, and maintaining agricultural machinery and equipment. Key Responsibilities
Assist the Artisan with Maintenance and Repairs
• Support the Tractor Technician with the servicing of agricultural machinery and equipment, ensuring timely and quality maintenance.
• Help perform preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns and downtime.
• Identify potential faults and assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools safely to support repair work.
• Follow instructions from the Artisan or Supervisor when performing mechanical adjustments and parts replacements.
• Keep tools, workbenches, and the workshop neat, organised, and safe.
• Assist in preparing the required tools and machinery for upcoming service tasks.
Assist with General and Ad-Hoc Workshop Duties
• Carry out various ad-hoc tasks as instructed by the Tractor Technician or Workshop Foreman.
• Help with transporting tools, parts, and equipment around the workshop.
• Ensure all activities comply with SANS standards and company safety protocols.
• Report any unsafe conditions immediately.
• Support overall workshop operations, including inventory management, housekeeping, and administrative duties when required.
• Adhere to BCEA, LRA, and OHSA regulations.
Minimum Requirements
• Qualification: National Senior Certificate or Artisan Certificate.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in a mechanical or maintenance environment.
