About Mamatwan Mine
The South Africa Manganese operation is located in the manganese-rich Kalahari Basin, Northern Cape, which holds 80% of the world’s manganese resources. Our Mamatwan open-cut mine has been operating for more than 50 years and continues to play a vital role in supplying global manganese demand.

About the Role
We are seeking an Artisan Assistant to join our Mamatwan Mine team in Hotazel, Northern Cape. In this permanent role, you will assist artisans with mobile machine maintenance, breakdown support, and inspections, ensuring compliance with all safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist artisans with daily maintenance and inspections
• Safely use basic hand tools
• Apply health, safety, and housekeeping standards
• Participate in incident investigations and report unsafe conditions
• Conduct pre-use and routine inspections, reporting defects promptly
• Perform risk assessments before tasks and identify potential hazards
• Keep all tools and equipment clean, safe, and in good working condition
About You
Minimum Experience & Skills
• At least 2 years’ experience in a maintenance environment
• Knowledge of Surface Mining Principles (advantageous)
• Experience in mobile machine maintenance, fitting, boilermaking, or electrical work (advantageous)
