RCL Foods is offering x5 Millwright Apprenticeship opportunities within its Spreads Division at Siqalo Foods. This 3-year structured apprenticeship program is designed to equip learners with the technical competence and hands-on skills required to become a qualified Millwright.
Based in Boksburg, this program combines theoretical knowledge, practical training, and on-the-job mentorship under the guidance of experienced Millwrights. You will gain exposure to mechanical systems, maintenance operations, and engineering processes while contributing to the efficient running of plant operations.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for the RCL Foods Millwright Apprenticeship 2025, you must meet the following criteria:
• Grade 12 / Matric Certificate with Mathematics and Science
• Employment Equity Preference: Females are strongly encouraged to apply
• Must be between 18 and 35 years old
Duties & Responsibilities
As a Millwright Apprentice, you will:
• Perform non-specialized maintenance tasks within your assigned unit
• Assist in diagnosing, interpreting, and repairing plant equipment to optimize production output
• Participate in preventative, predictive, and breakdown maintenance
• Work within defined Engineering and SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) policies and standards
• Support WCM (World Class Manufacturing) activities and continuous improvement initiatives
• Use Kaizen methodologies (e.g. Fishbone, 5 Why Analysis) to investigate and resolve engineering losses
• Comply with all Unilever safety and 5S standards
• Coach and develop engineering skills among maintenance and operational staff using OPLs and SOPs
• Participate in strategic engineering plans to reduce breakdowns and improve operational efficiency
