Job Summary
Clinix Health Group is seeking a skilled Electrical Artisan to join our Technical Department at Solomon Stix Morewa Memorial Private Hospital in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining hospital machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure smooth operations and compliance with safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
• Electrical or Mechanical Diploma
• National Trade Certificate
• Minimum 5 years’ maintenance experience in a hospital or healthcare environment
• Strong computer literacy
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS)
• Experience managing daily job cards
• Understanding of R158 building regulations (hospitals, theatres, and industrial kitchens)
• Good knowledge of PFC and standby power facilities
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change
• Willingness to work overtime when necessary
Key Responsibilities
• Perform daily inspections on all hospital machinery and equipment
• Adhere to preventive maintenance schedules and recommend improvements
• Execute jobs according to job card instructions
• Install new electrical systems and upgrade existing machinery
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance checks
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
• Identify and report equipment deviations, taking appropriate remedial action
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring mechanical or technical failures
• Draft and manage the facility maintenance plan
• Oversee the repair, installation, and maintenance of electrical equipment
• Maintain basic and industrial appliances
• Manage the overall electrical reticulation of the facility
