This structured 3–4-year apprenticeship programme combines theoretical learning and hands-on training, preparing you to become a qualified Instrumentation Artisan. What You’ll Learn and Do
As an Apprentice Instrumentation , you’ll gain knowledge and practical experience in both mechanical and electrical systems. Your key responsibilities will include:
• Completing the 3–4-year apprenticeship programme as per company and SETA requirements.
• Ensuring a safe and healthy work environment while complying with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Learning to locate plant equipment, spares, and technical documentation.
• Assisting with planning, budgeting, and preparing for maintenance and repair tasks.
• Diagnosing, evaluating, and repairing breakdowns.
• Performing preventive maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Building machine-specific technical competence to improve processes and optimise equipment.
This apprenticeship will give you the skills and confidence to thrive as a qualified Millwright Artisan.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for the Apprentice Instrumentation Programme, you must have:
• Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Science.
• A National Technical Certificate (N4) in Millwright or related engineering studies.
• Advantageous: An N5/N6 qualification in the relevant engineering discipline.
• A strong engineering aptitude and a genuine passion for learning.
