Transnet is inviting applications for the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Trainee Programme (Non-Technical). This 12-month programme is designed for students and recent graduates who want to gain practical workplace experience and enhance their employability. Learners will benefit from hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to real-world business operations.
Position Purpose
The Work Integrated Learning Programme provides participants with the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in a professional environment. It offers training, mentorship, and exposure to industry-specific tasks that prepare learners for future employment.
Position Outputs
Task Execution
• Assist in projects within the department or work-stream
• Perform routine operational tasks under supervision
• Support administrative functions such as documentation and reporting
Learning & Development
• Participate in training sessions, workshops, and mentorship programmes
• Shadow experienced professionals to gain practical insights
• Take part in problem-solving activities to build analytical skills
Communication & Collaboration
• Engage with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to understand business needs
• Provide regular updates on allocated tasks and project progress
• Act as a central point of contact for queries and assistance
Research & Analysis
• Conduct market research, data collection, and analysis
• Prepare reports and presentations using MS Office tools
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives
Compliance & Safety
• Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics
• Ensure compliance with workplace conduct guidelines
Qualifications and Experience
• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Completed all theoretical subjects for a Diploma (University of Technology) in:
• Information Technology
• Business Administration
• Supply Chain Management
Additional Requirements:
• Must be a South African citizen
• Age between 18 – 35 years
• Preference will be given to People with Disabilities

• Proof of certified Matric certificate, academic record, and ID copy
