This hands-on apprenticeship provides both practical and theoretical training in a professional mechanical workshop environment, designed to support growth, technical learning, and career development.
Purpose of the Role
To receive structured, supervised training in fitting and turning, with growing independence and responsibility as the apprenticeship progresses.
Key Responsibilities
Practical Training:
• Perform mechanical tasks and follow instructions as directed
• Assist with the fitting, turning, and maintenance of parts and mechanical equipment
• Maintain cleanliness and care of tools, components, and workstations
• Apply learned knowledge to real-world mechanical tasks
• Complete all required practical training modules
Theoretical Training:
• Attend and participate in theoretical learning sessions
• Complete subjects required for formal qualification
• Work through technical theory modules
• Apply theory to workshop-based tasks and activities
Minimum Requirements
• Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate)
• N3 qualification or relevant technical subjects at Grade 12 level (advantageous)
• Good manual dexterity and strong practical reasoning
• Sound numerical and decision-making abilities
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Fluent in Afrikaans and/or English (spoken and written)
• Medically fit for physically demanding work
