Rainbow Chicken is seeking a reliable and motivated Artisan Assistant to support its engineering and maintenance operations at the Hammarsdale facility. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about mechanical and electrical systems, with a willingness to grow in a technical environment.
Minimum Qualifications
• Matric (Grade 12) – Essential
• Studying towards or holding a tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering – Preferred
• N2 Qualification – Advantageous
• Fitting Trade Test or Fitting & Turning Trade Test – Advantageous
Experience Requirements
• Minimum of several months’ experience in a technical or engineering environment
• Experience assisting artisans with mechanical maintenance and repair tasks
• Exposure to routine maintenance, project support, and safety procedures
Key Responsibilities
• Assist artisans with daily mechanical and electrical maintenance
• Support engineering teams on various technical projects
• Perform routine maintenance tasks under supervision
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment (good housekeeping)
• Ensure compliance with OHS Act, ISO 9001, and ISO 22000 standards
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently and with high quality
• Participate actively in a high-performance engineering team
• Clean and maintain machinery and tools used in operations
Skills and Attributes
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
• Familiarity with tools and machinery
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime as required
• Strong communication skills in English
• Punctual, reliable, and safety-conscious
