Komatsu South Africa is looking for a motivated Artisan Assistant to join their dynamic team based in eMalahleni. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 6 months’ experience in a general workshop or technical environment, along with a Matric certificate with technical subjects. Qualification Requirements
• Minimum: Grade 12 with technical subjects, or Technical N3
• Advantageous: Certifications in forklift, crane, or welding (not compulsory)
Experience
• Minimum of 6 months’ experience in a general workshop or technical environment
• Basic knowledge of machine repairs and workshop tools
Knowledge & Skills
• Valid driver’s licence (an advantage)
• A genuine interest in Heavy Earthmoving Machinery
• Basic understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (SHE)
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Safety-oriented and aware of risks associated with machine and component movements
• Familiarity with basic tools and their applications
• Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with machine/component assembly and disassembly
• Perform cleaning of machines and components
• Carry out basic maintenance and housekeeping
• Operate and maintain Komatsu service vehicles
• Support with machine operation when required
• Assist the artisan in all aspects of daily operations
• Be willing to work overtime, standby, and travel when needed
