Our mine is situated in the Limpopo Province, about 60 kilometers from Lydenburg and 40 kilometers from Burgersfort, and is a world-class producer of Chrome Ore.
The successful applicant will report to the Chargehand or nominee.
Minimum Educational Requirements
• Grade 12 / Standard 10 with Maths or Maths Literacy
• Relevant Trade Test
• Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence
• TMM Licences “A” Dover
• Advantageous: N2 Certificate
Experience
(Including but not limited to)
• Minimum of 2 years trade-specific experience in a heavy industrial / mining / plant / TMM environment
• Advantageous: 1 year practical experience in earthmoving equipment
Duties
(Including but not limited to)
• Perform maintenance and attend to breakdowns on the production fleet
• Ensure all vehicles comply with the mine’s TMM Code of Practice for operational use
• Keep the workshop and working area clean and operational
• Schedule and organize workload, spares, tools, and resources per maintenance/breakdown procedures
• Obtain necessary permits and safe work declarations
• Execute work orders timeously and accurately; return completed work orders for sign-off
• Conduct daily inspections (scheduled/ad hoc) and provide feedback on work orders
• Plan jobs effectively to minimize downtime
• Conduct mini risk assessments and follow lock-out procedures
• Perform asset care activities according to the maintenance/breakdown schedule
• Operate and maintain mobile equipment in accordance with OEM standards and company policy
• Clean tools after use and store correctly in the storeroom
• Maintain a safe and functional personal toolbox
• Continuously inspect equipment to repair defects and prevent breakdowns
• Proactively plan and schedule servicing to ensure equipment availability
• Respond immediately to breakdowns to restore availability; report to Chargehand/Foreman and Control Room
• Report unrepairable equipment to the supervisor
• Foster effective teamwork and open communication with team members
