The South African Bank Note Company (SABN) – a fully owned subsidiary of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) – is offering an exciting opportunity for aspiring artisans through our 2025 Apprenticeship Programme. As a globally competitive security printing company equipped with state-of-the-art technology and high-tech machinery, SABN is the ideal environment to build your technical career.
This 36-month apprenticeship combines both theoretical learning and hands-on training, ultimately qualifying successful candidates as artisans in one of the following fields:
• Mechanical Engineering (Fitter)
• Electrical Engineering
• Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
• Millwright
• Civil Engineering
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Matric Certificate with at least 50% in Mathematics and Physical Science
• N2 to N6 Certificate in:
• Electrical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering (Fitter, HVAC, or Millwright)
(The certificate must reflect relevant trade theory subjects.)
• Must be a South African citizen
• Youth applicants (under the age of 35) will be given preference in line with national development goals
