Komatsu – Boilermaker (Contractor)

• Fabricate structural components including spade sections, shuttle cars, booms and conveyors, and continuous miners

• Operate and maintain portable hand and power tools

• Apply thermal techniques and perform arc welding to specification

• Conduct gas cutting and heating tasks with precision

• Execute oxygen fuel gas welding and brazing (Final Assessment)

• Carry out regular machinery inspections to ensure operational efficiency

• Operate machinery safely and effectively

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent

• Qualification: Trade Test Qualification – Red Seal: Boilermaker

• Experience: 3–5 years of relevant boilermaker experience

• Specialized Equipment: Hands-on experience with KMC machinery

• Torch Skills: Fully competent in using cutting torches

• Cranes: Formal training and certification in operating overhead cranes

• Safety Compliance: Completed Introduction to Gas Safety course or equivalent

Additional Attributes:

• Strong understanding of safety protocols and fabrication standards

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure

• Physically fit and capable of performing tasks in demanding environments
