This role supports the electrical maintenance team and offers practical, hands-on experience in a mining environment.
Minimum Requirements
• Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
• Code 08 (B) Driver’s License
• Advantageous: Operative Course Certificate
Experience Needed
• Minimum 1 year of practical, trade-related experience in a heavy industrial, plant, or mining environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist qualified electricians with electrical maintenance, installations, and repairs in mining and plant environments.
• Maintain tools and equipment: ensure proper cleaning, storage, and condition.
• Conduct mini risk assessments in your work area.
• Support in modifying and repairing electrical reticulation systems.
• Help with maintenance and fault-finding on:
• Substations
• High-tension (HT) cables
• Motor control centers
• Electrical panels and distribution boards
• Participate in equipment breakdown recovery and testing.
• Follow lockout procedures and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with artisans, supervisors, and related personnel.
