QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Grade 12/N3 with Mathematics and Science

Experience:

• 1 year’s experience relevant to the technical field in the chemical plant

Ideal Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Same as minimum, plus the following:
  • National Diploma
  • Relevant registered skills programs or unit standards successfully completed

Experience:

• At least 3 years’ experience relevant to the technical field

HEADLINE KEY RESULT AREAS:

• Demonstrate knowledge relating to the legal and specified requirements pertaining to a safe, healthy work environment and the consequences of not adhering to them
• Understand the importance of achieving specified requirements
• Calibration of equipment
• Inspection of the equipment
• Check and inspect equipment for condition and serviceability
• Ensure Clearance Certificate is signed before starting work and when work is complete
• Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental principles
• Ensure effective preparation of work area
• Undertake instrumentation maintenance work
• Provide instrumentation mechanic with assistance
• Ensure effective maintenance of tools
• Ensure adherence to safety standards
• Ensure effective plant or section maintenance
• Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures
• Ensure effective administration and communication
