Job Purpose:
To assist in the repair and maintenance activities of air conditioning systems within an area or specific discipline, ensuring compliance with required standards and the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Qualifications:
• Matric/Grade 12 + NQ4
Minimum Requirements:
1. 3 years’ experience in a related field
2. Air Conditioning Technician experience in the casino or hotel industry is an added advantage, or similar experience in a large plant is required
3. Experience on York / Trane chillers is an added advantage
4. Electrical fault-finding background and good problem-solving skills will be an added advantage
5. Strong communication skills required
6. Knowledge of health and safety regulations is required
7. Shift work is an operational requirement
Main Responsibilities:
1. Assist with regular audits of air conditioning plant and equipment
2. Complete job cards daily as per the Supervisor/Artisan’s instructions
3. Report to the Supervisor/Artisan upon completion of job cards for inspection
4. Record all times and materials on completed job cards and project sheets
5. Assist with attending to breakdowns as per the Supervisor/Artisan’s instructions
6. Help with carrying out new air conditioning installation work
7. Inspect and test systems to ensure they are up to operational standards
8. Perform regular maintenance checks on air conditioning systems
