Job Purpose
The Artisan Assistant will support artisans and workshop operations in the repair and maintenance of vehicles, equipment, and machinery. This position is crucial in ensuring that the fleet remains in optimal condition, meeting safety and operational standards. The successful candidate will be required to assist with various tasks, including vehicle servicing, repairs, and general workshop duties.
Application Requirements:
- Ability to perform duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Relevant experience in a vehicle maintenance workshop will be an added advantage.
- Must be physically fit and in good health.
- A criminal record check is mandatory, and applicants must allow their fingerprints to be taken by TMPD at their own cost.
- Ability to perform standby duties and work overtime when required.
- Willingness and ability to work shifts as per operational needs.

Primary Functions:
- Assist artisans and workshop operations in executing daily fleet repair tasks.
- Attend to vehicle breakdowns as and when required.
- Conduct regular workshop housekeeping to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform general maintenance on vehicles, equipment, and machinery.
- Adhere to safety standards as indicated in the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act 85 of 1993).
- Work collaboratively with artisans, mechanics, and other workshop personnel to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in ongoing training and skills development opportunities as provided by the employer.
