The Maintenance Planner will play a crucial role in ensuring that all maintenance activities, including shutdowns, are planned and scheduled efficiently. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that maintenance work is carried out safely, cost-effectively, and in a timely manner while maintaining accurate Master Data in the Planned Maintenance System.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, plan, and schedule routine and shutdown maintenance activities.

• Develop maintenance schedules to ensure optimal asset performance.

• Coordinate with various teams to minimize equipment downtime and maximize productivity.

• Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and operational standards.

• Maintain accurate Master Data in the Planned Maintenance System to track maintenance history and improve planning efficiency.

• Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders to implement best maintenance practices.

• Assist in cost control by optimizing maintenance schedules and reducing unnecessary expenditures.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) – Essential.

• Section 13 Trade Test Certificate – Relevant certification required.

• Strong understanding of maintenance planning principles in an industrial or mining environment.

• Good communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Proficiency in maintenance planning software is an advantage.
