Full job description
An artisan electrical supports production by providing effective equipment maintenance and reliability while adhering to procedures/codes, and utilizing all available support resources to increase stability and maintain sustainability of the plant.
FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS
Be able to perform all artisan functions related to chemical plant and maintenance, operations support and fault finding.
Specific job requirements:
- Execution of tasks associated with maintenance inspections and strategies.
- Ability to assist with modifications/upgrades on existing systems.
- Ability to scope and execute small projects.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, data sheets and associated technical documents.
- Electrical IMS inspections (SHERQ).
- Utilisation of and adherence to RCA procedures.
- Compliance to the MOC process for changes to existing plant and equipment.
- Data extraction and analysis (fault finding, etc.).
- A practical understanding of EX and hazardous area classifications.
- QA/QC experience with electrical installations.
- Outages planning and execution experience.
- Full compliance to section 14 of the OHS act.
- A working understanding of the electrical installation regulations (OHS act).
- Full compliance to Enaex task risk assessments, work instructions and working procedures.
- Installation, testing and commissioning new/repaired electrical installations in accordance with Enaex specifications.
- Proactive identification and correction of defects and preventative maintenance.
- A practical understanding of COCs, their legal implications and when these certificates are required.

Qualifications
- Matric with Maths, Science and English or N3 Math, Science and Business English.
- NQF 4 Red Seal Electrical trade test certificate.
- Driver’s license (code 08).
Experience
- Relevant Electrical experience.
