Job Advert Summary

BTT is currently recruiting for two (2) Artisan Assistants to join the Maintenance Department. in Richards Bay. To assist Artisans in perforrming maintenance tasks; inspections; and minor fitting, electrical & instrumentation tasks that do not require qualified Artisans’ attention.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric or N1
  • N3 Instrumentation or Electrical
  • 2 years engineering experience in a petrochemical environment or similar

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with comprehensive maintenance program to ensure equipment availability.
  • Assist Artisans during maintenance breakdowns and preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety in area of work.
  • Dispose waste generated accordingly.
  • Tag and return equipment removed for repairs to Stores.
  • Maintain all tools and equipment in good working order.
  • Perform periodic equipment inspections.
  • Complete all preventative maintenance checklists and update records.
  • Remove and install minor equipment.
  • Assist with project work when required.
  • Safely operate basic tools and equipment.
