DRDGOLD Far West Gold Recoveries (Pty) Ltd invites applications from qualifying candidates residing within the Merafong and Rand West communities to apply for the 2026 Engineering Learnership Programme.
This exciting opportunity is designed for individuals seeking to gain technical skills, practical workplace experience, artisan training, and career development within the mining and engineering sector.
Successful candidates will be registered for learnership training in the following engineering trades:
Fitting and Machining Learnership
Develop skills in:
Mechanical maintenance
Machine operations
Equipment repairs
Industrial engineering processes
Preventive maintenance
Electrical Learnership
Gain experience in:
Electrical systems
Industrial electrical maintenance
Fault finding and troubleshooting
Electrical installations
Safety compliance
Fabrication Learnership
Learn:
Welding techniques
Metal fabrication
Engineering drawings
Manufacturing processes
Structural fabrication
Important Eligibility Requirement
Please note that applications from candidates who do not reside within the Merafong and Rand West communities will not be considered for this learnership programme.
Minimum Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
Minimum pass rate of 40% or higher in:
Mathematics
Physical Science
English
Must have a clear criminal record.
Fully completed N3 qualification in relevant engineering subjects will be advantageous.
Successful applicants will qualify for a monthly stipend.
