Key Responsibilities
The Artisan Assistant will provide support in daily engineering and maintenance operations within the milling plant.
Mechanical and Engineering Support
- Assist artisans and technicians with maintenance and repair tasks
- Support preventative maintenance schedules on machinery and equipment
- Help identify faults and report maintenance issues
- Assist with inspections of production equipment and plant systems
- Support breakdown repairs to minimise downtime
Operational Support
- Ensure work areas remain clean, safe, and organised
- Handle tools and equipment safely and responsibly
- Follow operational and maintenance procedures accurately
- Assist with daily plant inspections and maintenance activities
- Support production teams during operational requirements
General Duties
- Carry out instructions issued by supervisors and authorised personnel
- Adhere to company safety and engineering standards
- Assist in ensuring optimal plant performance and reliability
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the plant
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Technical qualification or engineering-related studies will be advantageous
Experience
- Previous experience in a milling, manufacturing, engineering, or agricultural environment will be beneficial
- Basic understanding of mechanical or maintenance processes preferred
Skills and Competencies
