About the Apprenticeship Programme
The Millwright Apprenticeship Programme is aligned with merSETA requirements and is structured to ensure that apprentices gain comprehensive exposure to both electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines. You will rotate across different production departments, working alongside experienced artisans and mentors who will guide your development throughout the programme.
This is more than just a training opportunity—it is a career pathway that prepares you to qualify as a skilled Millwright Artisan, capable of maintaining, repairing, and optimizing industrial equipment and machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in all scheduled on-site and off-site training sessions in accordance with the apprenticeship programme
- Complete required training hours and modules as prescribed by merSETA regulations
- Assist qualified artisans with maintenance, installation, and repair of machinery and equipment
- Develop practical skills in fault finding, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards at all times
- Actively participate in performance reviews, assessments, and development discussions
- Work across multiple production and engineering departments to gain broad exposure
- Take ownership of your learning journey and ensure timely completion of the programme
- Demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and a strong willingness to learn
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate with Mathematics and Physical Sciences
- N2 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and technical concepts
