Artisan Electrical Lines and Servitudes Job Overview
Eskom is recruiting an Artisan Electrical Lines and Servitudes to support transmission line operations. This technical role focuses on maintaining and repairing power lines, ensuring reliable electricity supply, and responding to faults and emergencies.
The position is ideal for qualified electricians with experience in transmission networks who are comfortable working outdoors, at heights, and in demanding weather conditions. You will be part of a team responsible for maintaining Eskom’s power infrastructure and ensuring continuous service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Perform power line inspections and servitude maintenance under supervision
Repair hardware defects and carry out routine maintenance
Investigate line faults and assist in diagnosing electrical issues
Support restoration efforts during power outages and emergencies
Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in line work
Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards
Assist in maintaining positive relationships with customers and stakeholders
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
Trade Certificate in Electrical (Light or Heavy Current) at NQF Level 4 (120 credits)
Experience
Experience with transmission networks and line/servitude equipment
Skills and Competencies
Technical Knowledge
Electrical or mechanical engineering principles
Transmission line systems and servitude maintenance
Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations
Line component identification and vegetation management
Basic electrical theory
Skills
Ability to work at heights and in extreme weather conditions
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow instructions accurately
Computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel)
Valid Code C1 driver’s licence
