Valterra Platinum, a global leader in Platinum Group Metals (PGMs) production, is inviting applications for an Underground Electrician (UG) on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This opportunity is based at the Mototolo Lebowa operation in Burgersfort, offering hands-on underground mining experience within a world-class engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Attend and participate in safety meetings
• Conduct and participate in risk assessments
• Allocate tasks to subordinates and provide on-the-job training
• Attend to breakdowns and emergency repairs
• Ensure availability of materials, spares, and equipment
• Comply with environmental and legal requirements
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality
• Exercise sound judgment in component replacement
• Record results of all legal examinations accurately
• Complete job cards, PMs, and reports on work performed
• Apply correct tools and follow required standards and specifications
• Prioritise tasks according to operational requirements

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
• Grade 10 or Technical Trade Specific N2
• Grade 12 (advantageous)
• Certified Competent Electrician / Electrical Trade Certificate
Experience (Advantageous)
• Minimum 2 years underground experience post trade qualification
• Hard-rock mining experience
• Medium Voltage (MV) electrical experience
Additional Requirements
• Ability to perform standby duties
• Knowledge of risk assessment procedures
• Valid Code 08 driver’s licence
• Basic computer literacy
• Valid Certificate of Fitness
