Job Overview
Siqalo Foods, a respected subsidiary of Remgro and a sister company of RCL Foods, is currently inviting applications for two (2) Basic Operator positions to be based at its Boksburg manufacturing facility in Gauteng. These permanent opportunities are ideal for individuals with manufacturing or production experience who are looking to grow their careers within a well-established and reputable food production company.
The successful candidates will report directly to the Shift Production Manager and will play a critical role in the packing hall operations. The main purpose of the role is to safely operate, set up, monitor, and maintain allocated production equipment to ensure that finished products are packed efficiently, accurately, and according to strict quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
As a Basic Operator at Siqalo Foods, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
• Operating and monitoring packing hall machinery to ensure smooth and continuous production.
• Setting up allocated equipment according to production schedules and specifications.
• Performing basic machine adjustments and minor troubleshooting to prevent production delays.
• Ensuring that finished products are packed correctly, labelled accurately, and meet quality standards.
• Adhering to all health, safety, food safety, and hygiene regulations at all times.
• Conducting routine equipment checks and reporting any faults or abnormalities to the Shift Production Manager or maintenance team.
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment in line with company policies and food manufacturing standards.
• Meeting daily production targets while minimizing waste and downtime.
• Completing basic production records and documentation accurately.
• Working effectively as part of a team to achieve departmental and company production goals.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this Basic Operator position, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
• N3 / NQF Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working in a manufacturing, production, or packing environment.
• Basic understanding of machinery operation within a factory or production setting.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety instructions.
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends or public holidays if required.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
