Operations Assistant (X3) – AECI Mining

Job Purpose

AECI Mining is seeking three (3) reliable and safety-conscious Operations Assistants to support blasting operations and housekeeping activities at its Emalahleni site. The successful candidates will assist the MMU Controller with the operation of the Mobile Manufacturing Unit (MMU – Blend Truck) while ensuring full compliance with safety, quality, and legal standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the MMU Controller in managing and operating all aspects of the Mobile Manufacturing Unit (MMU) to meet customer and AECI OTIF standards

• Conduct regular inspections in line with SABS and World Class standards to identify risks and support continuous improvement

• Support all blasting-related activities including measuring blast holes, closing or stemming charged holes, guarding, and cleaning

• Perform general housekeeping duties on site

• Ensure cleanliness of the wash bay, truck park, and trucks at all times

• Load and unload products, including packaged explosives and accessories

• Assist with charging duties on the blasting bench

• Ensure compliance with all legal and safety requirements at the depot

• Maintain MMUs according to World Class cleanliness and operational standards

• Work independently when required and follow operational instructions accurately

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)

• Valid Code B Driver’s Licence

• Knowledge of safe working practices

• Basic product knowledge

• Experience in hazardous product handling (advantageous)

• Must be medically fit and able to obtain Red Ticket Health Clearance

• Strong attention to safety, detail, and teamwork
