About the Role
The National Treasury is seeking Asset Verification Clerks for a 12-month fixed-term contract to support effective asset management and corporate governance. The role focuses on reviewing business processes, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring compliance with asset verification and disposal procedures across departmental operations.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Register Support:
• Assist in preparing and maintaining supporting documentation for all departmental assets.
• Affix identification tags to all assets and provide general administrative support for Asset Management activities.
Disposal of Redundant or Obsolete Assets:
• Assist in identifying redundant or obsolete assets for disposal.
• Support the verification and disposal process in line with relevant regulations and departmental policies.
• Facilitate the transfer of redundant assets to designated areas for safekeeping and final disposal.
Asset Verification:
• Conduct verification of departmental assets and report discrepancies for further investigation.
• Support the alignment and updating of the Asset Register based on verification outcomes.
• Issue asset inventory forms to users to confirm assets under their responsibility have been verified.
Minimum Requirements:
• Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF Level 4) qualification.
• 0–12 months of experience in physical asset verification is required.
• Knowledge of asset verification, disposal processes, and administrative support functions.
