Ivanplats (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is offering exciting trainee opportunities for Artisan Assistant Electrical UG Trainees. This is part of our Trainee Development Programme, designed to equip motivated individuals with the hands-on experience and technical knowledge needed to build a career in mining and engineering.
The Platreef Project — located in Mokopane, Limpopo — represents a world-class palladium–rhodium–nickel–copper–gold development and is recognised as the “mine of the future.” Join us as we pioneer advanced, mechanised underground mining using cutting-edge technology.
About the Programme
The Trainee Development Programme aims to prepare participants for future operational roles within the mine. Successful candidates will undergo structured, on-the-job training to gain practical experience in an underground mining environment.
Minimum Requirements:
• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification
• Successful completion of a Dover test for operator suitability
Added Advantage:
• Up to 2 years of relevant work experience
• Previous exposure to an engineering or technical environment
• Additional technical or vocational qualifications above Grade 12
Important Information:
• The programme runs for a maximum of 90 days
• Trainees are expected to demonstrate competence within the set timeframe
• Permanent employment is not guaranteed, but may be considered based on performance and available vacancies
• Participants will receive a stipend during the training period
• Internal employees are encouraged to apply if interested in changing career paths
• Shortlisted candidates will undergo an LPCat Assessment
• No extensions beyond the 90-day period will be permitted
