About Mafube Coal
Mafube Coal (Opencast Mine) is a joint venture between Thungela Resources and Exxaro Resources (50/50). The mine is located 37 km east of Middelburg, in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. Mafube Coal mines primarily for the export market.

Learnership Programme Details
The Mafube Coal Learnership programme entails:
• Attending theoretical and practical training at CTC
• Gaining practical on-the-job training
• Completing all modules and assessments in order to pass your trade test
Minimum Requirements
• Minimum Grade 12 and N2 Technical qualification with relevant subjects for the trade applied for
• Sound knowledge of Safety Systems, Regulations, and Standards with a strong focus on safety
• Must be willing to work shifts, standby, and call-outs when required
• Must have or be able to obtain a Certificate of Fitness
• A valid driver’s license is essential

• Electrician: Maths, Engineering Science, Industrial Electronics, Electrical Trade Theory
• Fitter: Maths, Engineering Science, Engineering Drawing, Fitter & Turning Trade Theory
• Instrumentation: Maths, Engineering Science, Industrial Electronics, Instrumentation Trade Theory
• Plater: Maths, Engineering Science, Plater Structural Steel Drawing, Plater Trade Theory
• Rigger: Maths, Engineering Science, Engineering Drawing, Rigging Trade Theory
