Job Purpose
As an Artisan Gr 2 Electrician, you will operate and maintain electrical equipment and machines while performing routine electrical tasks. You will follow strict safety procedures and technical instructions to meet performance targets and ensure operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance & Operations
• Operate and maintain basic electrical systems, equipment, and machinery.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform routine inspections.
• Apply and maintain safety procedures in the work environment.
Safety & Compliance
• Participate in risk assessments and comply with all safety regulations.
• Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to waste disposal procedures.
• Play a critical role during emergency situations to restore plant operations.
Teamwork & Reporting
• Attend shift handover meetings and provide progress feedback to supervisors.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to resolve daily technical issues.
• Give input during toolbox talks to improve plant safety and efficiency.
Training & Development
• Contribute to the development of training modules.
• Identify personal training needs and integrate them into your Personal Development Plan (PDP).
• Conduct on-the-job coaching for learners and present Subject Matter Expert (SME) sessions on specific equipment.
Continuous Improvement
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Plant Performance Improvement initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and equipment upgrades.
Minimum Qualifications
• Matric / N3 with Mathematics, English, and Physical Science
• Occupational Trade Qualification (Electrical Red Seal)
Experience Required
• 3+ years of relevant electrical experience
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical systems
Licenses & Certifications
• Valid Driver’s License
