Job Description The ideal team player will gain hands-on experience and grow within the mechanical and metal fabrication industry. You will support our skilled boilermakers in the fabrication, assembly, and installation of boilers, tanks, and pressure vessels.
Requirements
Grade 12 or equivalent
Technical training or apprenticeship in metal fabrication or welding preferred
Minimum 12 months of relevant experience in a mechanical, fabrication or construction environment
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
Support boilermaker with cutting, welding, grinding and fitting metal parts
Perform minor welding, tacking and fitting under supervision
Clean and maintain work areas, machinery and tools
Assist in testing and inspecting finished assemblies for leaks/defects
Support boilermaker with project planning and documentation as required
Maintain inventory of tools and materials and report shortages
Hold or position parts during welding and fitting processes
Perform other duties as directed by the boilermaker or supervisor
Skills Required
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
Ability for follow instructions and work under supervision
Team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
Safety-conscious and compliant with site safety procedures.
