Job Summary:
Weir Minerals is seeking a motivated Technician Assistant to join our Maintenance Department in Alrode. The ideal candidate will assist with general maintenance tasks and support artisans, provided relevant training has been completed.

Key Responsibilities:
• Follow all Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) protocols and housekeeping standards.
• Comply with the Duty of Care Policy at all times.
• Perform routine inspections on equipment and premises for safety and functionality.
• Support maintenance tasks involving plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry work.
• Assist with event setup, furniture movement, and basic repair tasks.
• Maintain organized and clean workspaces while ensuring smooth maintenance operations.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to Weir’s zero-harm safety culture.
Minimum Requirements:
• Technical qualification (e.g., N3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering)
• Exposure to or training in overhead cranes, forklifts, and mobile elevated platforms
• Good problem-solving and communication skills
• Basic hands-on technical skills – use of hand and power tools; understanding of basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
