KONE is seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician to join our team in Klerksdorp. Our dedicated maintenance professionals deliver on-site customer service to ensure the safe and smooth operation of elevators and escalators. We are now looking for a service-minded individual to support our customers with high-quality maintenance services.
Role Summary
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be at the heart of KONE—an everyday hero who helps improve people’s lives through the safety and reliability of our equipment. Your role focuses on ensuring quality service, enhancing equipment performance, and maintaining strong customer communication.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure customer satisfaction through top-quality service and proactive on-site communication.
• Provide accurate and real-time reporting of work completed.
• Build and maintain excellent relationships with customers, contact persons, and end-users on site.
• Manage the site environment effectively during service operations.
• Identify and communicate any site risks promptly.
• Recognize and carry out “unplanned” service repairs where needed, with prior approval if not contract-covered.
• Manage PAR stock levels, including shelving, inventory, and replenishment orders.
• Submit timesheets accurately and on time.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Must reside in Klerksdorp.
• Possess one or more of the following qualifications:
• Red Seal Trade Test Certificate (Lift Mechanic).
• NQF Level 4 Certification with completed 4-year apprenticeship.
• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Diploma/Degree with at least 12 months of shadowing a competent lift mechanic.
• NQF Level 5 Certification with at least 12 months of shadowing a competent lift mechanic.
• Strong communication skills and basic IT proficiency.
