Introduction
An exciting opportunity exists for an Engineering Assistant at our mining site near Aggeneys, Northern Cape. The ideal candidate will assist artisans and supervisors with general engineering maintenance and housekeeping activities.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with housekeeping and engineering maintenance under supervision.
• Lift, hold, position, and support parts/materials manually or with tools.
• Help with dismantling and re-assembling components as instructed.
• Load and offload materials and parts from transport vehicles.
• Move materials to and from storage areas using manual or non-self-propelled equipment.
• Assist with installations, repairs, and breakdown maintenance under guidance.
• Perform general housekeeping and safety checks.
• Act as an observer (e.g., fire watch for conveyors, pipeline leak inspections).
Qualification Requirements
• Grade 12 (Matric)
Experience & Skills Requirements
• 1 year of experience in the mining industry (preferred).
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
• Understanding of workplace safety procedures.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
