The role is responsible for ensuring the safe installation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical equipment, including crushers, gearboxes, and pumps.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality
• Display safety conduct at all times by wearing the correct PPE.
• Attend pre-shift meetings.
• Report unsafe conditions and behavior.
• Adhere to FA and client policies and procedures.
• Always prioritize safe behavior.
Maintenance and Fabrication
• Implement maintenance schedules.
• Maintain and repair all mechanical equipment.
• Conduct plant inspections on key mechanical equipment.
• Identify and prioritize equipment in need of maintenance or repairs.
• Plan downtime for repairs and maintenance.
• Coordinate materials and manpower for assistance.
• Perform risk assessments and study procedures.
• Execute repairs and maintenance.
• Fabricate general steelwork.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Grade 12/N3 with Mechanical Engineering subjects.
• Trade Test: Fitter (MQA/MERSETA preferred).
EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 3 years of post-trade test experience as a Fitter (Section 13 Artisan).
• 2 years of Learnership or Apprenticeship in Mining or Construction.
• Basic exposure to maintenance of general plant equipment.
• Strong and diverse machining ability is a requirement.

• Verbal communication.
• Understanding of unsafe conditions and behaviors.
• Knowledge of unsafe behavior and its implications.
• Basic understanding of planned maintenance documentation and procedures.
