Position Purpose
To recruit and develop a highly-skilled workforce that supports the growth of Transnet’s business, enhancing productivity, profitability, and the employer’s bottom line.
As part of Transnet’s Human Capital Development Strategy, the Transnet Academy offers comprehensive apprenticeship training to learners to be trained as Artisans in various fields and locations.
Position Outputs
• Installation of machines in workshops
• Repair and maintenance of all buildings and machines
• Mechanical fault finding and repairs on electro-hydraulic machines, including motorized equipment
• Conducting preventive maintenance (PM) and reporting on defects
• Mechanical overhauls, modifications, and upgrades of machines and equipment
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have one of the following:
• NTC2 (National Vocational Certificate) with four relevant trade subjects (all passed)
• Technical National Certificate Vocational Level 4 or higher with seven subjects passed
• Technical Matric Certificate, including Pure Mathematics and Physical Science (passed), with relevant trade theory
