Supreme Processing has an opportunity available for an Artisan Assistant in the Maintenance department to assist the current artisans. The purpose of the position is to provide support to the Scale Technician in maintaining and repairing critical weighing equipment used in the processing plants.Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12/N3
- Electrician trade qualification -advantageous
- At least 2-3 years post qualification experience
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical machinery used in a food processing facility.
- Familiarity with hand tools, grinders, levels, and other technical instruments.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Scale Technician in adjusting functional parts of scales and control instruments.
- Help align and balance scales according to product specifications.
- Support the assembly, installation, and repair of wiring, electrical, and electronic components of scales.
- Assist in diagnosing scale problems by checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogues.
- Help dismantle devices to remove defective parts for repair or replacement.
- Assist in inspecting, operating, and testing scales to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Aid in maintaining, repairing, and calibrating overhead weighing stations, metal detectors, and check weighers.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance alongside the Scale Technician.
- Assist in the use of tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electronic testing devices.
- Assist with recording maintenance and repair work performed
- Other relevant electrical duties assigned.
