Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
• Engineering installations are constructed according to agreed standards, procedures and specifications
• Engineering equipment is maintained according to agreed standards and schedules
• Engineering equipment is repaired according to agreed standards and schedules
• Compliance with SHEQ, M&RC and client standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols
• Cost containment, high mean time to failure after repairs
• Effective stakeholder engagement
• Competent, motivated, disciplined and positive team
• Effective self and team supervision in alignment with MRC values and leadership initiatives
Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- 5 years of mining industry experience (underground and surface)
- 5 years of trade experience as a Fitter with TMM Experience.
- Basic knowledge Sandvik LHD, Dump tracks and Drill rigs. [preferred]
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
• Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF4)
• Section 26 Fitter Trade Certificate / MIETTB (Mining Industry Engineering Trades Training Board)
• Trade Certificate through a registered body, e.g.:(i) Olifantsfontein, pre 1994
(ii) ESTC (Engineering Skills Training Centre) James Park
(iii)GFA (Goldfields Training Academy)
• Contract of Apprenticeship signed off by employer and Department of Manpower
• Valid First aid Certificate and valid Code EB driver’s license
• Analytical with attention to detail
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and fault-finding from drawings
• Hazard identification, planning and organising skills
